Sunday’s heat turned every dog into a water-loving pooch at the Bark in the Park Festival, held for the first time at the Plunkett Estate west of Byron.

The estate’s ponds and streams were a welcome oasis for the dogs – ranging from massive mastiffs to skinny whippets. They were united in the belief that cool water is good, and they shared the cool spray with any owners or other dogs who got a little too close to “towelling off” shakes.
